Reckless Driving/Traffic Offenses

Fight Your Traffic Violation

Driving While Suspended • Reckless Driving • Speeding

You should not ignore a traffic ticket, but you should not automatically pay it either. You need to find out what the consequences are, and then determine if it's possible get the charge dismissed.

Pleading guilty to a traffic violation can result in license suspension, fines and higher insurance rates. Some offenses may carry jail time, such as reckless driving or driving on a suspended license.

These are Serious Charges Worth Fighting

Contact my Fairfax, Virginia law office to discuss your case. For more than 20 years, I have helped people in Prince William County and the surrounding areas of Northern Virginia fight traffic tickets and clean up their driving records.

Reckless Driving — Speeding of 20 mph or more over the posted limit is charged as reckless driving in Virginia, a criminal traffic offense. If you have an otherwise decent record, I will try to get it reduced to a +19 speeding ticket — or dismissed all together.

Aggressive driving or weaving, bald tires or bad brakes, driving at night without lights — any of these can be charged as reckless driving. I may be able to reduce it to careless driving or other lesser citation to avoid the big hit on your record.

Driving While Suspended or Revoked — This is a very serious traffic crime, especially if you were suspended for DUI. I have represented many immigrants who have difficulty getting their license reinstated, but drive because they need to get to work. I work to avoid jail and additional suspension or revocation.

Didn’t know your license had been suspended? That happens! I can help you get to the bottom of it and try to avoid the harsh consequences.

Other Traffic Violations

Each moving violation adds points toward suspension. I can advise you on whether you should pay the fine or fight the ticket, including speeding, illegal passing, stoplight/stop sign violations and driving without insurance.
